Jerusalem ultra orthodox say hello
This picture featured in Ha'aretz last week shows a charedi man giving the finger to the camera at a riot in protest of the arrest of an ultra orthodox mother for starving her children (they were protestin that she was arrested, not that she was abusive). You may be concerned about a growing number of child abuse cases in the ultra orthodox communtiy here, or their rising cotempt towards the rule of law. But I'm more worried about the never ending, rampant americanazation of Israeli culture.

Jerusalem Pride Parade
Look how many people came!
Okay, maybe not that many. But Jerusalem sure looks good in rainbow.
The Israeli reform movement approves!
The folks with poor English... not so much. The sign on the left, by the way, says "HOLY LAND NOT HOMOLAND"
Some protesters haven't changed there signs since 1989!
I saw this ad on the way home, which makes me think the the march was successful. Look how acceptable homosexual activity is!

Mi sh'lo kofetz mafrit!
After an exciting 3 hr protest, the JNF decided to delay the vote (on whether to swap lands in the center for lands on the periphery with the government in Israel, which would then immediately privatize all acquired lands in the upcoming chok ha'hesderim). More details to come.
If you are interseted in buying parts or all of Israel, please contact the prime minister directly.
